Advocating for a PERMANENT Solution to End the Risks Encountered by Gambian Migrants and Other Africans.

Back-way lives matter (BLM) Association comprises  of Like-minded Gambians within and outside The Gambia (Diaspora) who thought it important to reflect on the backway syndrome as a developmental challenge. The primary objective is to better understand the issue, identify the underlying causes, devise mechanisms to address it (to reduce it drastically even if we may not be able to eradicate it completely). Another aim of the Association is also to try and reach out to some victims who may be imprisoned (incarcerated) in  some of these destination countries or entry points. In as much as the Association is not promoting illegal migration in any way or form, it is our strong belief that human rights and human dignity must and should be respected and protected by all nations, countries and societies in this modern era/civilisation.

The Association was registered in the Gambia in September of 2022. We recognise the significant steps/strides being made by the  International Organization for Migration (IOM) towards the same direction which are commendable. We would therefore be happy to partner with  any Organization/ Office in the form of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with a view to achieving a common objective. The modalities and the form this collaboration will take can be worked out.
